Famine to feast.

As a physician I think there is always a reason for human behavior and hospital policy. For example, why do babies look so peaceful and content after they are born, but the second you get them home they cry and fuss uncontrollably? I think there is a 24-72 hour period when mommy isn't making milk yet, but the baby is hungry as ever and those 2 things don't go together very well, which is exactly when the hospital knows to send you home. So why can't mom make milk the week before the baby's born and things would be a lot easier. Well I think that those 2-3 days are quite critical for mommy and baby to cope with each other and when the milk comes there is a sense of accomplishment for both mommy and baby. Anyways that is what went on these last few days. Macy is feeding like a champ now and Jen has a smile from ear to ear. Sorry for no pics in the last few days but we had to take care of the little one.

  1. I hear you about babies screaming for milk. Henry wasn't so hungry, but Bea was starving for milk I just didn't have, so she kept screaming for about 5 months until she got some real food. You're blessed it only lasted a few days. I hope the milk production keeps up super strong for your darling girl. I can't wait to meet her!
