3 Months!!

I can't believe that Macyn is going to be 3 months on Saturday! Time is flying so quickly and she is getting so big! She is developing at such a fast pace. She loves to stand and exercise her pudgy little legs, she has great neck control, I can hold her without much support for her neck, though sometimes she is a bit wobbly. She is talking a lot more now. She has mastered her "aahs" and is now working on her consonants. She is working on her g's. She is reaching for some things though she still likes her mommy to shake her toys in front of her face but she can lay on her mat for 10-15 minutes and entertain herself. She loves to imitate certain faces and sounds that I make. When I smile, she smiles, when I stick out my tongue, she will too and when I make a throat clearing sound, she tries to make the same noise.
As you can see in some of these pictures we are trying to work with her and trying to have her sit up on her own but she always leans to the side. She can sit up straight for about 5 seconds and then "TIMBER........."

She is really starting to get used to having hands. She constantly brings them to her mouth to suck on and eat. She is definitely going to be a thumb sucker--she just has to find it first. For now, she just sucks on her forefinger and sometimes the whole fist! She is bringing her hands together in front of her which is good but she still holds them in such tight little fists. I have to open them all the time!

Tummy time is a constant battle for us. She will lay on her tummy for a few seconds and then get totally bored and start wailing! She likes to lay on pillows but she hates the ground. Her neck is getting stronger and she can lift it for longer periods of time, but she can't lift herself off the ground with her arms yet, we're working on it!

As you can see she still has a full head of hair and its still growing. It gets thicker every day. Pretty soon I will be able to put it in a pony tail! Right now it kind of looks like a baby mullet but a very cute baby mullet!

Baby Giggles

We finally heard our little baby giggle! I was getting ready last night for a Christmas party and I had my hair wrapped up in a towel. Dax walked in with her and I said "Hi little baby!" and she started giggling! Oh my goodness, it was the sweetest sound I've ever heard. Dax walked out of the room and we tried it again and we got another giggle. We kept trying it over and over again and eventually she didn't find it funny anymore! I can't wait to find out what will make her laugh next. I wish I could've caught her laugh on camera it was soooooo sweet!!!

It was picture time again! This time mommy decided to come from behind the camera and take some pictures of herself!! It took about 50 attempts to get these 4 pictures. The rest were blurry or both of us were cut out of the shot. Macyn is so photogenic, she had more pictures with good faces but mommy's one-handed photography skills aren't great!

Touching, Grabbing, and Hitting...trust me, it's a good thing!

We have been focusing on teaching Macyn how to reach out and use those little chubby hands! Thanks to a new activity play mat from Grammy and Grampa she has some toys hanging that she really enjoys looking at but now she is starting to reach out and touch them and hit them. Recently, she actually started to grab them!!! Here are a few pics of her grabbing Gerry the Giraffe's foot. She's so funny, she will hang on to it for a few minutes, give him a shake or two and then let go. Then she wonders why he's not making anymore noise! Soon we're going to work on holding other objects like her little noisemakers!!

Macyn was being so photogenic today and I had to post all of the pics. I was only going to post one picture of the two of us but I just couldn't pic my favorite one! Although I look a mess in all of them, she is making the cutest faces. I had to put them all up!!!

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

This year we have so many things to be thankful for. We are enjoying having Grampa, Grammy, Aunt Shanny and Uncle Paulie here for Macyn's first Thanksgiving. Sue made an excellent meal, as usual, and we all ate way too much, as usual! We also had Terry, one of the other joints fellows, his wife Christy, his son Brett and daughter Savannah over for Thanksgiving and we all had a great time. Macyn enjoyed her first Thanksgiving and about 6 hours after I ate, she enjoyed a delicious turkey dinner and pumpkin pie!! We were sad that our entire family wasn't together as we traditionally are in Pittsburgh but we are thankful that Grampa, Grammy, Aunt Shanny and Uncle Paulie had a safe trip down here. We are so lucky to have such great family! Happy Thanksgiving to everyone!!!

Bored Mommy!

Today was dress up day but she really wasn't into it, which is why most of the cute pics are of her actually without clothes haha! When I put the pink dress on her, she cried most of the time and when I was going to put on her pajamas, she started playing and smiling. She loves to be a little naked baby, what can I say!

Here are a few pics after Macyn was done eating. She is so content!

Here she is looking at her favorite toy "Sassy" She loves vibrant colors and loves to look at things in constant motion which means that mommy has to sit there and shake little Sassy all day. I finally just attached it to the mobile in the pack and play and she loves to stare at her and another toy I name "Frassy."

Big yawn. Although she is up a lot more she is still taking consistent naps after eating. I am looking at her right now taking a nap in her swing. Depending on how tired she is her naps vary from 10 minutes to 30 minutes which allows mommy to get some work down (like going on facebook and blogging!)

She did it again...almost

This morning me and my little baby love were laying in bed. I laid her down and laid beside her. She turned her little face to me and smiled her beautiful smile. I was laying on my side while she was laying on her back and suddenly she started turning on her side to get a better look at her mama! She was so close to turning over all the way! We stayed there playing and talking for a few minutes! She is the sweetest conversationalist! We talked about the dream that she had last night, how she wanted to take a walk in the park today, and tons of other mommy-daughter stuff!

Rainy Day = Picture Time

It's been a little rainy down here so Macyn and I have been hanging around the house which ultimately means picture time. I didn't dress her up or anything although I was tempted to whip out her wardrobe and play a little dress up. Maybe if it's rainy tomorrow we can have a little fashion show...

She is lifting her head pretty well although not consistently. She usually tuckers out after about 2 seconds.

Bedtime

I am so proud of my little baby girl. She is starting to sleep a lot better at night. Last Wednesday after I put her down for the night, she slept 6 hours straight! The rest of the night she woke up every 2-3 hours. I thought it was just an accident because on Wednesday she was back to sleeping 2-3 hours but then on Friday she slept 7 hours straight! She's been sleeping 6-8 hours straight consistently over the past few days and I am sooo happy! Hopefully this continues. I will have to try it with her in the crib, so far it's been with me in the bed. Maybe that's why she sleeps for so long because she's with her mama! Hey, I'll take it!
She also rolled over again. This time she was with her papa. She was laying on his chest and just started rolling. Maybe the first time wasn't an accident! She's going to be crawling in no time!

Unfortunately, I didn't get a picture of her starting out on her belly but I swear she was laying face down and then she just started to roll. She cried the whole time! I'm pretty sure this was an accident but I'm still excited and surprised that she could roll her little chubby butt over!!!
