My Little Ballerina

This week I tried my hand at making a tutu for Macyn and I'm happy to say that it turned out remarkably well. It was pretty easy and fun putting it together for her. I stayed up way past my bedtime to put it together and I couldn't wait until the next day for her to try it on. I have a BUNCH of left over tulle maybe I'll try to learn how to make a headband or something like that to match the tutu. She is a little too young to truly appreciate it but I can't wait until she gets older and we can play dress up with, hopefully, more homeade outfits and costumes.

Here is my little ballerina in her tutu! She loved pulling on the tulle and like everything else she grabs with her little chubby fists, putting it in her mouth. After a while, it got a little itchy and she was READY to take it off.
We also had some precious family photo ops this week. We were all hanging out in "Dax's room" laying on the bed and Macyn was just so adorable I had to take some pics!
She LOVES her feet! She will pull them up to her mouth and suck on her toes!! So now, she sucks on all 10 of her fingers and now all 10 of her toes. Looks like she won't be getting bored any time soon. She isn't even interested in the paci anymore!

Here is my favorite picture of us! It's so hard to get her to smile at the camera if I'm not holding it! I usually sing to her when I take pics to get her to smile and Daddy doesn't have my beautiful voice so the pics of the two of us end up with me smiling and her looking into outer space but daddy did a good job and caught a cute pic of us. Good job papa!!!
We encountered a new situation for mommy and baby. I signed up for an aerobics class at a local church and they offer child care. This was the first time anybody watched Macyn that wasn't me, daddy or other family! I was so nervous! But the ladies at the day care said she did GREAT! They comment every time on how good-natured Macyn is and how she is such a pleasant baby. I am so proud of her. She does better than I do. I had a harder time letting her go than she had of letting me go! When I return to pick her up, she is so content being held by ladies there, it makes me feel good that she is such a good baby!! Maybe she knows she is in day care so mommy can get into shape and hopefully lose ALL of this gosh darn baby weight!!

My Funny Valentine!

This Valentine's Day, Dax had two ladies to buy valentines for and he did NOT disappoint! I was nursing Macyn when I heard my phone ringing. Dax answered it and I heard him giving directions to our condo. I was expecting a package from Sephora so I thought the delivery truck driver might have been lost and my number was the contact so I didn't think anything of it. I heard Dax go to the door a few times and then I heard knocking and Dax answered and I heard the delivery woman say, "Enjoy!" Enjoy Sephora products? Okay.... Dax poked his head in the door and said, "Were you expecting a package?" then he brought a flower box out from behind his back! I was in SHOCK!! I opened the box and inside were DELICIOUS chocolate covered strawberries from Edible Arrangements. Mmmm, they were delicious! The card was beautiful. Dax always says the right thing! Macyn and I definitely had a great Valentine's day!

Here is Macyn wearing her Valentine's Day bib that Grammy sent.
Macyn playing with her little pink tutu! Sooo cute. Thanks Aunt Tara!

My Growing Baby

For the past few weeks, Macyn has been able to roll over from her back to her tummy. She has been rolling all over her play mat. As soon as I put her down on her back, she would automatically roll right over onto her belly. Today, she was laying on the floor and as usual she rolled onto her belly. She wanted to play with the mirror which was right over her head but she couldn't reach it because it was above her so she rolled back onto her back!!! My little girl is a regular rolly polly!! I can't wait to see what she does next!!
She is also getting a lot better at using her hands. She can reach for toys on the mat and can bring them toward her mouth. The night before last she actually scared me with her new skills. She was laying in her crib and I heard her fussing. I let her go to work it out for herself and I hear a muffled cry which usually means she rolled over and couldn't roll back. I peeked into her crib and she was on her back I looked closer and she grabbed her pacifier and put it in her mouth...backwards. It got stuck in her mouth and she was freaking out too bad to pull it out. My poor little baby! I don't keep the paci in the crib anymore. She is starting to suck on her thumbs more and self-soothe that way.
We have been trying to sleep train her for the past week or so. Sometimes she is able to soothe herself back to sleep but other nights she continues to cry. We are trying the Ferber method but it breaks my heart to hear her cry so I sit there and watch the time. Hopefully, she gets it soon!

Ari's Trip to Charlotte

This weekend, Miji, Harris and Ari made the 7+ hour drive to Charlotte from Maryland and we were all so excited! They got in late Friday night and went straight to the hotel to get some rest but were up and ready to play Saturday. We were so happy that they were able to come down for the weekend and they even stayed an extra night. Macyn and Ari realized that there was another baby near them but they still didn't pay much attention to eachother except for when their mommies switched babies. Then they took notice! I was happy to see that Ari is so engaging. He is constantly laughing and squealing with excitement. Macyn was a little quieter and she was being a little shy girl. She kept blowing her little raspberries but mostly sat and took everything in. We were sad to see them go but we can't wait to spend some more time with them. Hopefully they will be able to take a beach vacation when we move. Here are some pics from their visit!
Here is little Ari man with his Auntie Jennifer. Such a big, strong boy!!!
Macyn loved cuddling with Auntie Miji. She even fell asleep in her arms their first day hanging out. She loves her Auntie Miji so much!

The two cousins laying on the play mat together. It looks like we need a bigger mat haha! This was a cute pic we got of them gazing at eachother.

Here they are again on the play mat. Dax took the picture and had an electronic flower, from Grammy Sue, that lights up, dances and sings above his head. They were mesmorized by the flower as you can see by the expressions on their faces.

Here is a pic from the hotel pool where they were staying. This was the first time either of them were in a swimming pool. We think they were a little confused. They didn't know what to do. We think they just thought they were in a really big bathtub and they were wondering why they had their diapers on. Either that or they thought they took a really big pee since their diapers were soaked!! But neither of them cried which is good. They are both little water babies!
I can't wait to see them in action when we go to the beach!!!

Our New Camera!!

We finally got our new camera and I couldn't be happier! I have already begun taking tons of pictures and they come out so much better than the old digital camera. I started this online course for digital photography and I am just having so much fun. Poor Macyn is going to have to sit for so many photo sessions!!!

This is my favorite picture of her so far with the camera. She looks so cute and she has a little line of drool coming down from her chin!!

This is her goofy little face with that ever-present tongue sticking out. It looks like she is finally realizing that the black thing blocking mommy's face is in fact another camera and she is not pleased!!

The Babe!!!

We are preparing our little baby for solids which we are going to start incorporating into her diet when she is 6 months. We sit her in her high chair every time we have dinner and so far she enjoys it. She does get a little restless but we make her sit until we are done with our meal. We know she is ready for "real people food." When either of us eat, she watches us so intently and tries to imitate our motions with her mouth. I can't wait to take pictures of Macyn with food all over her face!!
Here we are getting ready to have dinner with the Tauntons. It was a bit chilly so we dressed Macyn up in her little Asian inspired outfit from the Sainoviches and we put her headband on her head to cover up her ears. She looked adorable. It looks like we styled her hair to compliment the headband but it's just standing up like it normally does!!
It was picture time again before Macyn and I were headed out for the day. I love this outfit because it has the cutest ruffles on the butt. She was quite a little trooper letting me take different poses but then she was ready to leave!!

She is enjoying her jumparoo immensely as I've noted in previous posts. She is getting good at playing with all of the toys and knowing how to make them light up and move. She concentrates so hard on the rolling ball but she loves it!! As you can see in this picture, she is trying to eat the bird. She jumps up and down trying to reach the bird but alas it is too high and beyond her reach. She knows how to use her hands pretty well but she still tries to bring her mouth to objects instead of using her hands to bring the object to her mouth. I guess she is just lazy!!

She is getting so big and she is so smart. We are trying to transition her into her crip instead of sleeping with mama. So far it is going ok but in the middle of the night she likes to move back with me. I am working on it though as Dax is tired of being in the other room by himself!! Macyn is learning and doing so much. Dax ordered our new camera and it should be getting here soon. I can't wait to play with the camera and start taking better pictures of the babe!!!

More Personality

I thought that Macyn had a ton of personality before but she just keeps on getting funnier and funnier. The faces that she makes are priceless and I try to capture them on film as quickly as I can.
Her hair has a true mind of its own doing anything and everything from curling, feathering and sticking straight up in the air. She is starting to blow little raspberries with her mouth and they are adorable. She mostly does this when she is getting upset or she's ready for mommy to pick her up. She is enjoying more mat time being able to reach up and play with the toys that before just hung in her face. She is trying to roll over now. So far she is just rolling to her side and then rolling back onto her back. But she is able to make full circles all around the mat by doing this.
She is so entertaining throughout the day, I wish I would record her all of the time. She is developing at such a fast pace it's hard to believe that she is just 4 months old.
I ordered some Korean language flashcards and I'm hoping they come in the mail soon so we can start learning (both her and I!!)
