The Steeles
With the news of our little bundle of joy arriving, I wanted to create a space that family and friends could view our ever changing lives. With our move to NC, I thought this would be a great opportunity to share missed memories until we are able to see each other again.

The Future Dr. Steele?
For some reason, Macyn HATES doctors yet she understands that dada is a doctor and she loves to pretend to be a doctor and wear her stethescope and listen to anybody/anything's heart beat. Her fear of doctors is actually a recent development. She used to be fine until her last appointment and she freaked!!!!!!!
The other day, I had to take her to one my appointments and she was sitting in the stroller when they called me back to take my blood pressure and do a finger prick and she started crying hysterically. All of the nurses and M.A.'s were trying to calm her down but all she saw were women in scrubs coming at her which made her cry even more. I kept repeating over and over that we weren't there for her and that the doctor was going to take care of mama and then she started patting me on my leg and saying "mama!" She is such a little sweetheart but that wasn't the worse of it. When we got called back into the examination room, she started going crazy again. My doctor asked if it was ok to pick her up and I said sure but that only made things worse as she started crying even harder thinking she was going to do something to her. I took her from the doctor as she was listening to the baby's heartbeat and Macyn was pretty much laying on top of me and her tears and snot were starting to drip on my face. It wasn't until I gave her her favorite fruit snack that she was able to calm down...

Recently we took a little trip to a local farmer's market and along with selling fruits, veggies and the usual fare they also had chicken coops, llamas and ponies. Macyn was a little shy at first but she eventually warmed up, especially to the ponies. I can just hear her asking for a pony for Christmas already...

One of the little girls that we went with started trying to feed the pony leaves and Macyn was right there next to her copying her. She loves to watch the older kids at the park and imitate all the "fun" things that they do (read: all of the crazy stunts that older kids pull, 5 feet above the ground, Macyn will try without even batting an eyelash!)

Macyn recently discovered all the fun she can have with stickers. I had to take the stickers and hide them because she kept trying to put them everywhere. I still find stickers in the most random places!
Here's a little story that I unfortunately don't have any pictures of because I was too busy freaking out. I was changing Macyn's diaper in the morning and I will usually let her run around the nursery naked while I pick out her clothes for the day. She had a bit of a rash so I wanted to air it out and give her a little relief from the diaper. In the room, there's a table where I keep the diaper cream and diapers and underneath there's a basket full of wipes and other things. Well, Macyn crawled under the table and was playing in the basket and I saw her taking out the wipes. I told her to stop and then I heard a little squishy sound. I moved the basket and there Macyn was, playing with her own poop. She did a #2 on the floor and was playing with it. I screamed and picked her up to wash her hands and saw that she had some on her foot so I washed those off too. I picked her up in such a hurry because I didn't want her to put her hand in her mouth (she is still a finger sucker) and I ended up with poop on my shirt!!

There have been a handfull of times where I let her run free without a diaper and she peed but this was the first poop! I have to say it was definitely a learning experience for the both of us!!!

Mama's Big Girl
I always talk about how Macyn is such a daredevil. She thinks she is indestructable. Lately, she has grown tired of the safety and security of the baby swings and has ventured on to the big girl swings!! The first few times she tried, she fell off after a few pushes but I kept telling her to hold on tight and she rode it like a big girl!!! Although she did pretty well, she still scares me because when she is done swinging, she will just hop right off instead of letting me know to stop the swing! I don't push her very high or fast so when she jumps off she's usually ok but the swing usually smacks her right in the back of the head. She is such a crazy girl! She also loves running around chasing the older kids at the park and trying to play with them. It's hilarious because when they stop and try to talk to her, she does her usual jibber jabber that they can't understand and they look up at me with this puzzled expression. Then I have to tell them that she's just a baby and doesn't talk very much. She just wishes she was so much older!
This picture is a bit grainy but it's one of the few ones of Macyn and me that I actually like. Her little tongue sticking out is the absolute cutest. She is really starting to show her personality. She loves to laugh and loves to make others laugh. She is such a little jokester. If there's anything that gets a little bit of a giggle out of me or Dax, she keeps doing it over and over again. She is such a happy little girl and she is so sweet. She loves to cuddle and lay down with you to snuggle up with a book. She loves monkeys and calls her favorite monkey "ah ah" because of the sound that monkeys make. She is a HUGE fan of balloons. Every time we go to the grocery store she gets a free balloon and will play with it all night. She's such a good little girl and we are so lucky to have her in our lives. I hope that Ren is just as good natured and sweet as our little girl!!
Baby Belly 35 weeks
With my pregnancy with Macyn, I really didn't take many pictures of the baby belly until later on in the pregnancy and I'm afraid that I have taken even less with this baby. But I wanted to document the belly in at least one picture so last week, I decided to take a quick picture in the mirror. Surprisingly with Macyn, I was a lot bigger. They say that with the second you get bigger, faster but Ren must be a little guy because mama isn't that big. But Macyn was a big baby (weighing in at 9 lbs 5 ozs at birth) so that might have contributed to my weight gain. I also wasn't chasing around an 18 month old when I had Macyn so that could be it too. Who knows, we'll only know how big he's going to be when he decides to make his entrance. We can't wait to meet you little guy!!! We hope you come out nice and healthy!!!
