So far life in Charlotte has been pretty nice but I think the main reason is because Dax is not working yet and I get to spend as much time with him as I possibly can which people have told me to enjoy before little Macyn arrives. I am enjoying everything. Our days consist mainly of swimming, getting settled in the apartment and me learning how to cook Korean food which so far has been successful.
The other day I made Jah Jang Myun which is noodles with a black bean sauce and it was good and yesterday night we invited Alex over and I made Kimchi Jae Yook Bok Gum which is stir fried pork and kimchi and it was good, spicy but good! I asked Dax if it tasted like my mom's to which he replied, "No, but it was still good." I guess I'll never make it exactly like my mom's because let's face it, hers is the best but it gets me through my cravings for the most part.
I haven't really felt homesick yet but I think that's only because Dax is here. As soon as he starts work I don't know what I'm going to do...I will miss him! He has been a huge distraction which is why I haven't been too homesick. I miss the availability of people. Just calling and seeing if they are able to hang out. We'll see how things go with little Macyn, I might not have time to miss anyone.
Well, life is a journey, not a destination so I guess I will enjoy every minute!!!
With the news of our little bundle of joy arriving, I wanted to create a space that family and friends could view our ever changing lives. With our move to NC, I thought this would be a great opportunity to share missed memories until we are able to see each other again.

North Carolina
We are officially North Carolinans!!! We arrived at around 9:00 pm. Although we don't have electricity yet, I am so excited to finally be here. It was really hard saying good bye to everyone, especially family but we made it. I already can't wait for everyone to visit!
Our apartment is really nice. Dax kept telling me that it wasn't that nice and that I shouldn't get my hopes up but when I first saw the place I was impressed. I asked him why he told me that it wasn't that nice and he said that it was better for me to have low expectations and to be wowed than to have high expectations and be disappointed. I guess he know me too well! If he would've told me it was really nice, I probably would've dreamed it up in my head to be some kind of mansion!!!
I can't wait to get everything settled down here. I am so excited I can't sleep, which is why I am posting on my blog at 5:00 in the morning. You're probably wondering how I'm doing this without electricity! Well, we are sleeping over Dax's friend Alex's apartment and I am using his computer. Hope he doesn't mind!!
I can't wait for Macyn to get here so I can explore the city with a new little buddy! Although I miss all of my family I am so excited to be starting a new chapter in my life with my baby Dax and my baby Macyn!!!
The Baby Shower
Saturday was the baby shower. I was so excited for it I couldn't sleep Friday night so I just laid there hoping that I wouldn't be too exhausted after the shower. Everything went really well. Sue and Shannon did such a great job with everything. Miji bought a cake from Prantl's MMMMMM! It was delicious! I received so many nice things for little Macyn. We are so fortunate to have so many people in our lives that care about us and our little bundle.
I'd have to say the best gifts of the day were from Esmeralda, Consuelos, and Chang Bok Chee (hope I spelled her name right!!) Ha ha! These three were little gag gifts that my sisters and Harris decided to throw into the rest of the gifts as payback for what I did to Miji at her shower! It was fun opening gifts with tie-dyed flip flops, boy clothes and cat food for Macyn!!!
But everything went really well. I am sure that everyone had a wonderful time, I know I had a blast!!!

Days, Weeks, Months
I was talking with Miji about how far along I am and I said, "Can you believe it? Only two months to go." To which she replied, "Uh, no you have about three more months." But I calculated that I am 28 weeks (for all you English majors out there 28 divided by 4 is 7) which means I am 7 months which means 2 more months to go, right? WRONG!!! I forgot to take into account that the first day of your menstrual cycle is the first day of pregnancy when you are calculating according to the 40 week rule (40 weeks ends up being 10 months, NOT 9!)
So, I am 28 weeks (soon to be 29) which means I have 12 weeks remaining which is 3 months.
AHHHH. I just want to meet this little peanut already!!! It sounded so much better when I thought that I only had 2 more months but in a matter of seconds, a whole entire month was added!!! Everyone is telling me to enjoy the time off as a pregnant lady but I can't help it! I am so impatient! So two month or three months (WHATEVER) I just want to hold and kiss my little Macyn!!!
