Macyn's First Easter Egg Hunt

Okay, so I know technically, she didn't participate in the Easter Egg Hunt but Christy was kind enough to invite us to her church's Easter festivities and it was such a beautiful day, we couldn't refuse. I carried Macyn for the whole day but she enjoyed watching all of the other children run around. She loves to watch other children play!

Sleepyhead and Bed Head

It's amazing how much my little baby is changing. Every day she learns something new and I am having a heck of a time trying to keep up with documenting all of her milestones. We've recently transitioned Macyn to her crib. We still sleep in the same room and Dax stays in the guest room but I am trying to slowly move her from my bed to her crib and then eventually to her own room. It's a little bittersweet. I want her to be able to go to sleep and have her own space but I miss having her in my bed with me! But she is getting to be a big girl and she thrashes in her sleep sometimes and I end up sleeping in the little crack between the mattress and the wall...not very comfortable. But usually in the morning, if she wakes up too early, I just put her back in bed with me so we can both get some shut eye until a reasonable hour. As much as I don't want to kick her out of the bed, I know that she needs to sleep in her own crib. It's been a few days and it's been a little easier for the both of us!!
Here is my precious girl sound asleep in her crib. She loves to roll over onto her tummy and sleep. I guess it brings her comfort and as always, she has her fingers in her mouth! She is so big, the crib looks teeny with her inside it! Then, to add to it, she rolls around and ends up hitting her head on the bars on one side and kicking the bars on the other side! When she really doesn't want to be in there, she kicks and kicks. It sounds like the crib is going to break!! Her legs are so strong!
This is my little love bug with her crazy bed head. She took a bath the night before so it gets a little puffy after which might explain the afro! She is so adorable in the morning, so happy to see her mama! She has her little sleeve pushed up which always reminds me of her halmoni for some reason!

Here is her foot with her toes peeking through one of her blankets given to her by Erin. I just had to post this because I thought it was so hilarious! Her little toes needed some air I guess!

She has really started to bite and nibble on things. When she gets a hold of my hands, she always pulls a finger into her mouth and bites down as hard as she can. I don't see any teeth yet but she must be teething. I never knew that gums could hurt that bad! She loves to bite on her teether and she sometimes wears it as a bracelet (or I guess armlet...)

Macyn hard at work on her computer. Mama was working on her computer and Macyn was chewing on hers! She likes to push the buttons but like everything else in our house, this just ends up being a chew toy!!

She is getting so strong! She is able to really push up and put some weight on her arms. She can't sit up but she does this and sometimes looks as if she is going the crawl.

My little contortionist. This is what I meant in the above statement. She pulls her legs up and will almost be in a crawling position but then she'll just roll over. In this picture, it actually looks like she is about to stand up. It also looks like she is the Japanese girl from the movie "The Grudge." Weird! She is ready to move. Maybe she is getting tired of rolling around to get where she needs to be! She'll be walking in no time! Uh oh!!!

1/2 a Year!

Macyn is 6 months today and she had her 6 month Dr.'s appointment. She is doing GREAT!! She weighed in at 18 lbs. 13 ounces putting her at 93rd percentile. She measured 27 3/4 inches putting her at the 97th percentile (still off the charts!) She is getting so big I can't believe that it's been 6 months already! We will be getting her 6 month pictures taken soon and I will post them as soon as I can!

My Little Shamrock!

Happy St. Patrick's Day! In honor of Uncle Paulie, Grammy sent a little St. Patty's Day outfit for Macyn complete with Shamrock pockets on the shirt and dark and light green shamrocks on the pants and of course I had little matching green socks! She looked so cute in her little green outfit my little leprechaun!

Here she is just lounging around the house! She loves to cross her little feet and she looks so cute! Her hair is still crazy as ever and it sticks up all the time!

Hanging Around the House

Here are a few pictures taken from just hanging around the house on a lazy Saturday afternoon! We were able to head out to the park for a little bit before rain clouds threatened our day out and we returned home. Macyn always has a good time rolling around her mat!
A little relaxation time with daddy. Love her little crossed legs and her big chubby thighs!

These two pictures were of her trying to lift the elephant with her feet. It was the cutest thing ever. She kept grabbing at it and hearing the crinkly noise and trying harder. Unfortunately, she never got it but it was mostly because she got distracted with another toy. If she kept trying, I know she would've eventually picked it up!

Here is an upside down picture of Macyn. She was sitting on the boppy and she kept trying to move off of it and kept stretching her back and I caught her upside down.
Laying in the boppy.

Playing with her little trumpet that grammy bought her!

Macy Girl

Hanging out with our little Macy Girl! She is getting so big and we are having a lot more fun around here. We are working on a ton of new things. Sitting up by herself is one of them. So far she can sit but then the just folds foward, right in half. We put her in the bumbo and also sit her in the boppy. She is getting close! She loves to stand, whenever I try to pull her up to sitting, she pulls further to standing. Dax thinks she might go straight to walking! Another thing is feeding her solids. We are taking a break right now because Macyn got sick and she has taken a disinterest in eating. We are going to try oatmeal instead of rice cereal to see if a different taste will help her gain interest again. Hopefully it will! We'll see. There has also been a nice little break in the rain and cold down here and we are able to get out a lot more. Hopefully we will be able to take some more pictures outside at the park!
Here is Macyn right after bath time. Her hair is getting so long and full and gets so curly and cute when it's damp! Then when it's fully dry, it gets a little feathered look. Dax calls it her Farrah Fawcett hair.

Our little future nerd playing with her new computer. We noticed that whenever we lay on the bed and use the computer, Macyn will roll all the way over to it and she loves to push the buttons so I bought her her own computer. She likes to push all the buttons but she also loves to try and put it in her mouth...hopefully she doesn't do this to our laptop and short circuit the keyboard!!!

Here is Macyn eating and holding the spoon all by herself. This was taken at the feeding where she showed a disinterest in solids. She did this a few times and then kept gagging and refused to eat anymore. I think she just likes to chew on the spoon. Hopefully we can have her start again but we'll watch to see if she's ready, we don't want to force it!
Here are a few pictures of us going to the park. It was such a beautiful day outside. The sun was out and shining. We had to put a little hat on Macyn it was so sunny and she had mixed feelings about it! She wore it for a while but then realized that she could take it off and quickly kept snatching it off and playing with it.

My Little Daddy's Girl!

Recently, we started feeding Macyn solid foods. We started out with rice cereal and she enjoyed it so I made some pureed sweet potato. She enjoyed the new taste and ate the whole thing. Unfortunately, later in the middle of the night, she threw up. I took her temperature and no fever so that's good. I'm not sure if it was from the sweet potatoes or what but we took a break from solids tonight and we're going to go back to rice cereal tomorrow night. Maybe it was from running around yesterday. I went to aerobics and then we ran to Harris Teeter and then had dinner with Christy and the kids. Maybe too much activity for the little one to handle! But it seemed like she enjoyed it at the time. I have an ice cube tray full of sweet potatoes so I'll try again in a few weeks to see if she is ok with it. Poor baby!
Here is Macyn lounging around like a little adult (notice the crossed feet, soooo cute!) I love the little things that she does!
Here are more photos of the baby with her daddy! She loves laying with him and enjoys all of his attention. When he comes home from work, she has the widest grin on her face because she knows that her little buddy is back to play with her! Yesterday, Dax had work and then a work event. By the time he got home, she was in bed sleeping so he didn't get to see her the whole day. She missed her daddy but today they had some quality time together. It was bath night and he was able to splish and splash with her which she LOVED!

It looks like they're having a deep conversation which I thought was so cute!

Here is a classic Dax and Macyn picture. She loves little kisses on her cheeks and neck because they tickle and she smiles and laughs. She likes it when Dax kisses her and hums at the same time. When I do it, she doesn't smile, I think it's his beard that tickles her and she loves it. She is such a daddy's girl!
