Our Growing Baby

Yesterday I had Macyn's 4 month appointment and everything is GREAT. She weighed in at 17 pounds 8 ounces putting her in the 97th percentile in weight. She measured at 27 inches putting her in the 97th percentile in height and her head circumference was 16 1/4 inches putting her in the 60th percentile. The Dr. said that our little girl is growing up nice and healthy. She has great neck control and loves to stand which the Dr. encouraged. She has to start pushing up with her hands when she is doing tummy time, something that we are working on. Macyn was well behaved during her examination and just layed there and smiled while the Dr. checked her eyes, ears, mouth and hips. He even commented on how even tempered she is. We then had to get some more vaccinations. I distracted her while the nurse gave her the shots. At first she seemed a little confused and then she wimpered a little but she never cried, my brave little girl!! She was fine that night, we didn't have any problems and she wasn't in any pain!
I can't believe that she is already 4 months! So many things are changing. She really starting to gain her own personality. She is laughing a lot more. She loves to be surprised, that really gets a giggle out of her. She also likes wind blowing on her face. She is so alert and loves to play with mommy and grab my hands and bring them toward her mouth. She is starting to bite my fingers a lot and she has become a drool factory. We go through several bibs a day!
She is getting a lot better at holding her own toys and playing with them rather than me putting them into her hands. She is opening up those tight little fists a lot more and I think she has finally realized that those appendages at the end of her chubby arms are for more than just sucking although she is still sucking on them like crazy. She has found her thumb but loses it every now and then but she is totally content with just sticking the other 4 fingers in her mouth and calling it a day!
She loves to play on her Jumparoo. She jumps like crazy on that thing!
We are having a blast hanging out and I am able to do a lot more around the house since I don't need to constantly entertain her, she is learning how to entertain herself which is nice. She is growing up so fast and I am so happy and honored to be able to witness her growth each and every day!!!

More Pics...different hairstyle!

We just received some new hair clips thanks to Aunt Miji and we really wanted to try them out. Here she is with two hot pink bunny clips, so adorable!!! I was trying a new hairstyle with a split in the middle but I decided to stick with the side part, it just looks so much cuter and I think it compliments the cowlick in the back pretty well. She was happy to sit and pose for the first few pictures but eventually got tired of it, as you can see in the progression of the photos and she had a bit of a meltdown, all caught on film!!!

My Baby has SOOO much hair!!

Over the holiday, I was able to put her hair in a ponytail on the top of her head. We were playing around today and I found out that I can put it in little pigtails! She didn't like it at first but got used to it. I only kept them in long enough for the pics b/c I didn't want her pulling them out herself and pulling out any hair!! She looks so cute!!!

Back in the burgh.

We were all home for the holidays. Jen and Macyn were back over Christmas and throught New Year's. I was home for the week of New Year's. We have a fabulous party for Ari and Macyn's 100th day. Here is pic of the proud parents and the chubby cousins!!!!


Granpa and grammy Steele loved having Macyn at the house. They especially liked to watch her wake up every morning. It is such a production. Macyn really enjoys tummy time epecially when she can watch TV.

Uncle Paulie and Auntie Shannie bought Macyn a snowsuit and she got to use it. We had a good amount of snow and we took Macyn out to play. She made a snow angel and a snowman.

We have a lot more pics but they are on Jen's camera so we will post them when she comes back to Charlotte. It was great trip but as always too short. Both grandparents have a great time playing with little Macyn and I am sure she will miss them. We are so thankful to have such loving grandparents.... Macyn could not be more spoiled!!!!!!
